I want to share something very important with as many people as possible. It's the least I can do for my friend, Tara. It's the least I can do for anyone who will listen, anyone who may be in a similar situation. Tara and I were lifelong friends. We met when we were 13 years old. At the age of 28, Tara was murdered by her husband in May, 2003. Not only was this a tragedy in itself, that someone so full of life, so loved by anyone and everyone that knew her, such a good friend, a good person, hysterically funny, and much, much more, but this all happened while their 7-year old son was home and witnessed his mother die at the hands of his father. I may have lost my best friend that day, but no words can begin to describe the loss to her parents, brothers, to the world, and most of all, to her son. I welcome you to read the article(s) I have posted and ask that if you know anyone - or you yourself, who may be in an abusive relationship to know that there is help out there. Do not think that this cannot happen to you. Tara believed it wouldn't happen to her and she paid for it with her life.
